As the state of New Mexico continues to explore the option of legalizing recreational cannabis, more and more people are looking for a dispensary near them. While cannabis is currently legal for medical use in the state, no recreational dispensaries exist in either Albuquerque or Las Cruces yet.
However, with the recent passage of a bill that would allow for the sale of recreational cannabis in the state, both cities can expect dispensaries to open soon. The bill, which was passed in May of 2021, allows for a maximum of 34 dispensaries to open statewide.
Albuquerque and Las Cruces have both been identified as potential locations for these cannabis dispensaries, with 7 new locations expected to be licensed in each city. As the law is implemented and more dispensaries become available, citizens in both cities will have access to recreational cannabis products.
In addition to the dispensaries, citizens of both cities will be able to purchase cannabis products directly from licensed producers. This will provide more options for people looking to purchase cannabis products in either city.
Ultimately, the passage of this bill will provide citizens in both cities with access to recreational cannabis products if they choose to purchase them. While the full implementation of the law is still underway, both Albuquerque and Las Cruces can expect to see dispensaries open in the near future.
